Lime and solid plastering
We specialise in patch ups, repair and creation of traditional lath and plaster, lime/cement renders and exterior mouldings, its in our philosophy to always try to use similar methods and materials as what would of been used at the time in which the property was built or original works are done. Listed, period or new properties, trust us to treat your building with the respect it deserves and get repairs and alterations done correctly.
Traditional lath & plaster
For hundreds of years, strips of wood called laths, have been used to create surfaces to plaster on. Hand spilt (riven) using hardwood, or in later years sawn using soft wood.
Interior & exterior rendering
Whether using lime or cement and sand, we can apply new, replace or patch up damaged and failed renders to differant finishes, for example ashlar. harling/rough cast, etc
Lime re-pointing
We can undertake works that involve repointing stone and masonry in lime mortars. We specialise in the repointing of stone walls plus patch repairs of flint walls.
Gypsum based plastering
Though we specialise in lime plastering we also offer, modern skimming/plastering services, whether you require over skim, board and skim or float and set.
Insulated lime plaster and backgrounds
There are now new products and techniques in lime plastering, which are breathable and ethically produced, that now make it possible to effectively insulate solid wall constructed properties, to make a greener and more liveable space while retaining the heritage of the building.
